World Book Day

Pamphill First School have been celebrating World Book Day in style today and earlier this week.
The families of Pamphill showed off their creative skills yet again with some incredible pumpkin decorating that adorned the school wall earlier this week.
The school were delighted to be able to welcome Oly into school on Friday 21st October to speak with the children about the importance of looking after our oceans and his campaigns.
A PREMIER League footballer and former Cherries star opened a Dorset school’s new play area.
Following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we share our thoughts, prayers and condolences with the royal family at this time. We will also take this opportunity to teach and remind our pupils about the incredible life of service that she led as we focus on the Christian value of thankfulness. This morning we have held a collective worship that reflects such thoughts.
Pamphill has a long-standing tradition of performing at the Folk Festival, and we were delighted to revive that this year.
The news and social media feeds are filled with the latest information, and some of it is very upsetting and worrying; and may not even be verified. Children listening and viewing distressing images can become frightened and fearful. The age range of our children makes it impossible to respond to what is happening in a 'one-size-fits-all' way, and therefore we will be tailoring what is shared with the children accordingly. What we feel is important as a school, is to prevent the spread of misinformation or the development of racial prejudices.
We are delighted to be able to share this image. After a process in which pupils, parents, staff and academy committee members were able to contribute design ideas and their thoughts on what makes us who we are, the image below was designed by one of our Year 4 pupils, Leiarna. And we love it!
As part of our new vision, the school wanted to develop an image that represents our values and ethos. Who better to design it than our pupils and their families?
The school took a short walk to the beautiful St. Stephens Church for a Christingle service like no other.
The children put on a brilliant show as a whole school, performing outside to their parents and families at the end of term.
The children have had a sensational time last Friday at the Christmas Fair.
